Black Doves has a lot to offer once you get over the fact that it's pretty implausible! Keira Knightley plays the wife of the British Secretary of Defense, but who is actually a trained assassin working for a shady organization (yes, yes, she would never have passed the vetting, I know!).

The plot introduces some of her colleagues who are a mixed bag of characters but are actually very funny, with a nod to Guy Ritchie

There is an underlying element of homosexuality in her colleague Ben Wishaw who plays a homosexual trained as a killer by his father who was also a murderer. This gave Wishaw the opportunity to play a fairly nuanced, tormented role quite sympathetically, but it reminds me why my wife and I like Korean and Japanese dramas that don't depict explicit sex.

The plot moves along at a good pace and there are some wonderful caricatures in the mixed bag of assassins in the Black Doves

The plot revolves around a gang war, the CIA and an international incident that threatened to cause a major dispute between China, the UK and the US. Overall, although it is really quite far-fetched, it is an entertaining experience and Knightly plays a pretty terrifying girl who is quite believable in her role.

Definitely worth watching!
