I’m sure this film was made with a lot of care and love, BUT what it lacked most, in my opinion, was BREATH. Opera singers learn to control their breath in order to captivate ours. And I agree with the other less favorable reviews that the opening scene was a really bad example of lip-syncing, especially since I couldn’t see Ms. Jolie breathe! Sure, Callas lived a glamorous life, but to me the emphasis seemed more on the visuals in this film. This is a movie that made me stop watching until the end, and I regret it.
